Narrative Analysis¶
Narrative analysis in the misinformation context studies how false and misleading information is structured as stories. Rather than treating claims as discrete propositions, narrative analysis examines recurring story templates, character archetypes (heroes, villains, victims), plot structures, and how these elements combine to make false narratives persuasive and memorable. This approach draws on literary and cultural analysis to understand why certain false narratives gain traction and how they persist across cases.
