Multi-objective optimization¶
Multi-objective optimization addresses problems where multiple, potentially conflicting objectives must be optimized simultaneously. Rather than finding a single "best" solution, multi-objective methods explore the space of trade-offs (Pareto frontier) between competing goals.
In the context of platform governance and content moderation, multi-objective approaches explicitly model the tensions between reducing harmful content, preserving engagement, maintaining user activity, and enabling legitimate expression.
